Treatment by physical therapists only
All large physical therapy companies in the Lehigh Valley use physical therapist assistants to treat their patients. They do this because, fortunately for them, physical therapist assistants are paid about half as much as a physical therapist. Unfortunately for you, they receive less than half as much schooling (a physical therapist assistant can receive a degree in two years whereas the minimum requirement for a physical therapist is a five-year Masters degree).
At Robbins Rehabilitation, we will not sacrifice quality and expertise of care to increase our profits. We hire only physical therapists trained in Evidence-Based practice protocols. This means better care and quicker recovery for you.
Treatment by the same physical therapist for every treatment
Continuity of care. This is a concept lost at large physical therapy companies. Patients who have come to us from other clinics have told us they have had 12 treatments from 12 different therapists. It is impossible to assess a patient’s improvement and progress their program effectively if they are seen by a different set of eyes every time they are treated. At Robbins Rehabilitation, you will see the same therapist from initial evaluation to discharge. This method is proven to decrease recovery time.
Treatment by manually trained therapists
What is Manual Therapy? Manual Therapy in physical therapy encompasses the treatment of musculoskeletal/orthopedic conditions through the use of skilled specific hands-on techniques. This includes, but is not limited to: manipulation and mobilization to diagnose and treat soft tissue and joint structures for the purpose of decreasing pain; increasing range of motion; reducing or eliminating soft tissue inflammation; including relaxation; improving contractile and noncontractile tissue repair; extensibility, and or stability; facilitating movement; and improving function.
That’s a mouthful. What’s important to know is that all of our therapists have been trained by David S. Miers, who is Fellowship Trained in Orthopedic Manual Therapy and Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy by the American Physical Therapy Association. He is the only therapist in the Lehigh Valley to hold these two certifications. We use hands-on Manual Therapy to evaluate and treat your condition as opposed to larger companies who put you on a bike, show you a few exercises, and wave good-bye as you walk out the door.
Guaranteed appointment within 24 hours of your first call
Maybe you haven’t started the process of doing something about your injury because you dread the process. For most patients, this is how it goes:
They get injured.
They call their primary care doctor (and probably wait 1-2 weeks, if not more, for an appointment).
Their primary care doc refers them to an orthopedic specialist or surgeon. They call the orthopedist’s office and get an appointment in 4 weeks, if they’re lucky.
The orthopedist sends them to their own PT clinic, which takes another 1-2 weeks to get an appointment.
We’ll do the math for you…It’s about 2 months before you get treatment. We guarantee that we’ll start fixing your problem within 24 hours of calling our office. Pick up the phone and make your appointment or ask a therapist a question. If you call our office during normal business hours, you will get to speak directly with a physical therapist. If we are not in the office, leave a message with your phone number and we promise to have one of our therapists call you by 7 pm that evening to answer your questions. What are you waiting for?
Office hours from 7 am to 7 pm
We know how busy life can be. Between work, taking the kids to soccer practice, and everything else you have to do, it’s hard to schedule something else like physical therapy. That’s why we’re here early in the morning and late at night so that you can fit us in.
Vibration plate training
Vibration Training is the utilization of various frequencies of vibration to stimulate specific anatomical structures and anatomical systems such as the neuromuscular systems, pain-control system, and balance systems. The use of the whole-body vibration has been around for a long time. The old Soviet Union used vibration as a sports performance tool. We are currently using it for our sports performance program and seeing fantastic results. For postsurgical rehabilitation and acute low-back conditions, whole-body vibration is a highly successful specialized piece of equipment that helps speed recovery and enhances the rehabilitation process. Pneumex Unweighted treadmill
Unweighting is defined as applying a vertical support to a patient in order to lessen weight-bearing stress. As seen in the picture, [XX: MAKE SURE PICTURE IS THERE] the Noramco PT50.1 treadmill uses a harness system to lift you and literally make you lighter on your feet. We can take as much as 120 pounds of weight off your frame, which can accelerate the healing process for lumbar and lower extremity injuries in a number of ways.
Decreasing weight-bearing stress allows the rehabilitation and healing of injured tissue to begin sooner, utilizing task-specific functional exercises without the pain. If you have a postsurgical weight-bearing restriction of 50%, we can take 50% of your body off of you and allow you to train in a partial weight-bearing environment.
By taking weight off your frame, thus decreasing the effects of gravity on your joints, we can effectively treat patients with conditions like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. We are the ONLY physical therapy treatment center that offers this technology in the Lehigh Valley. Check out http://www.pneumex.com/id32.html to see a video tutorial on the many uses of our Unweighting treadmill.
Free therapy ball and exercise program for every new patient
At Robbins Rehabilitation, upon discharge we give every patient, no matter what their diagnosis, a free therapy ball that is custom fit to their height along with the program “10 Exercises Everyone Should Know [xx: DO?] For Optimum Health.” It’s part of our goal to improve the overall health of the Lehigh Valley. We not only want to fix your current injury but make sure that we help decrease the chance of future injury. No other clinic in the Lehigh Valley offers this program. It’s just another way we separate ourselves from everyone else in the area.
